We had such a great time last Saturday, tail gating and watching Stanford there was no question in our mind that we would do it again for the Stanford vs Washington game. Of course we invited Tim to the festivities and what a great decision that was.
Tim accepted the grill-master challenge. That was a daunting task following the great Eric and his Mongo burgers. However, Tim was a strong competitor. His specialty? Pork ribs. And let's just say he did not disappoint.
Here's a few pictures just to make you wish you could barbecue with Tim. It was that good. Rachel - eat your heart out! You've got competition in the Logan fam!
Julie and Karen joined us. With four of us it was only natural that we would strike up a Euchre game.
I love this picture with the 10 flying onto the board. A slick photo.
Now, along with the awesome ribs Julie made a gorgeous strawberry short cake. And, she found this delicious chocolate topping sauce. It was a perfect end to a great cookout.
After dinner it was time to enter the stadium and watch the game. The game got off to a an exciting, but disappointing start for Washington. Here's the Stanford player (#81) who received the kickoff - and who ran it back for a touchdown. Notice the sign that reads 'How Are We Doing? just in front of the player as he approaches the end zone. I'd say you're doing pretty good... if you were rooting for Stanford.
Stanford got a chance to celebrate early! And.. unfortunately often. They were able to overcome Washington. But, it was still a great game to watch and enjoy.
Washington had a huge number of fans at the game - along with their pep band and cheerleaders. They represented well - along with Tim and the rest of the alumni and fans sprinkled throughout the stadium.
The Stanford band is a bit unconventional to say the least. You've all heard of 'the tree' - Stanford's mascot. Here's the tree enjoying itself during halftime.
Now having come from Michigan, you're used to a more conventional marching band and drum major. Check this photo out. If you blow it up you'll notice the 'individual' dressed up in the Marilyn Monroe costume in the middle of the field. That's Stanford's - male - drum major. Different strokes for different folks!
And finally, the only real reason Tim loves to attend the Washington game is to have his picture taken with the cheerleaders. So, without further ado. Here you go Tim! Enjoy.

Those ribs look a little more do-able! Ohhhhh....and that Strawberry Shortcake....that could have been my dinner alone!
Tim and the cheerleaders look HOT together!!
Thanks for such a fun time!!
My new best friend comes in a bottle and their first name is Dark!! I told Tim he may need to keep the bottle at his house. Thick chocolate syrup!
What's the brand name, madre; your finger is covering the second half. Gotta work on your Vanna White product placement skills.
Joel, It looks like it says "Mom's, keep your hands off"
Joel...do you have to ask..just head to Cosco..we KNOW that is where she got it!!
No, she probably got it at Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. If it was from Costco the bottle would be the size of a keg. She'd need a license just to operate it.
Cosentinos ;)
Seriously! I was under the impression that place no longer existed, replaced by a Korean market of an unpronounceable name. Seriously? And BTW, I'd still like to know the brand name.
drum role....
it's called Monin Gourmet Sauces: Dark Chocolate Flavored Sauce.
maybe we'll get you some for Christmas.
btw joel... that location was not the only one Cosentino's had. some have survived!
I know that, I was just trying to be entertaining with my comments. It kinda ruins the effect if you acknowledge that you know there is more than one. Work with me, padre, work with me.
oops ;D
