Revealed!

Here she is!  It's Julie with her new hairdo. Doesn't she look fantastic?  Thanks all for the interest and requests.  She finally let me put up a picture ;)  Enjoy!

Happy Father's Day

Some of my favorite family pictures are the crazy ones.  Jumping shots.  Tongues hanging out.  Everyone acting crazy - except me.  Tod always encouraged Joel and Hannah to be crazy.  I always wanted everyone to sit still and smile.

Everyone in our jumping pictures can get off the ground except me. Tod always is encouraging the kids to get off the ground.  I'm the one that wants them grounded and near me ;)

I am so glad that Tod gets to enjoy Ryan now.  I hope he can teach him jumping shots.  To enjoy Michigan football.  Playing cards.  And all about pedometers.  I think they have a lot of walking ahead of them in life.

Sorry!!

Earlier today someone got access to my email account and sent out a goofy email.  They also ended up posting the link in their email to our blog.

My apologies to anyone I know that got this email.  Please simply delete it - do not click the link.

Again, sorry.

Who is in Control?

I decided to speak up
just the other day
I wanted to matter
have them hear what I say

The world heard my voice
that very same day
Then set out to silence
my talkative way

I decided to question
just the other day
To think for myself
and not just your way

The world heard my questions
that very same day
Then delivered pain and confusion
to keep me at bay

I decided to wonder
just the other day
To hope about outcomes
that aren’t cold and grey

The world sensed my hope
that very same day
Then stirred up calamity
to start its decay

I decided to believe
just the other day
Allow something bigger
to determine my way

The world felt my hunger
that very same day
Then fed me alternatives
to lead me astray

I decided to wise up
just today
And not allow the world
to hinder my way

Way to Go Sis!

Mad props to my sister, Lurinda, who is a very accomplished amateur photographer.  I have been bugging her for over a year to start a blog to show some of the shots she takes.  She simply loves to travel and goes on several photo trips a year.  Right now she's in Maine on a trip with her good friend and fellow photographer Lori.

She has been messaging me photos for the last two days and I finally told her to 'get a blog!'.  And she did it!  Wow.

Please visit her blog WhereAmINow12.blogspot.com to keep track of her and enjoy her photography!  I just added it to the blogs we watch over there on the left side of our blog.

Way to go Sis.

PS... I'm going to make some recommendations about formatting that will help you ;)

Makeover Day

Yesterday Julie took the bold step of getting her hair cut and colored!  It was makeover day.  Here she is just after arriving at the salon (Seven in Berkeley) and getting seated.

Meet Lisa, Julie's stylist.  She was very sweet about letting me photograph the events of the day.  I had to because Hannah ORDERED me too ;)  She was unable to attend because of work - but had set the day up.  So I was under strict orders to keep her up to date.  I think we shared about 50 texts during Julie's visit.

First up was the coloring.

I like this picture.  Doesn't she look cute!

I didn't realize how LONG it takes to get your hair colored and styled.  Julie's appointment started at 2:00 PM and we left the salon at 5:40 PM.  That's long enough to play a baseball game!!   You can imagine there were times when she was simply waiting.  Like below.

Finally the cutting began - which evoked great excitement from Hannah.

First cuts!

Julie's been kind of coy about showing the results.  I think it was a huge change for her and she is still adjusting to the new look.  However, here's a clue ;)

Julie's decided she is going to tease everyone.  Here's HER idea of how to show her cut.

Or.. better yet.. here's her impression of Wilson on Home Improvement!

Way to go Julie!!

More Team Henderson 2!

We spent Memorial weekend visiting with Joel, Carissa and Ryan in Oregon.  Here's grandma Julie and little Ryan.  He seems very comfortable ;)

This picture makes me smile.  I think of Ryan having very deep thoughts.  What is he pondering?

We call this the 'Call Me' picture.  Lucked out catching that pose!

He's already reaching for the stars.  This perspective makes him look like he's reaching into space.

A unique pose... he just looks like he's free floating and having fun.

Joel and Carissa are doing a great job with Ryan.  Here's dad doing an early morning feeding.  He's trying to make you think he's dozing off....

but he really does have everything under control.

Grandpa loves to hold his little grandchild.  I marvel at God's amazing ability to knit together such a miracle.  Look at that little hand holding my finger.  I like this photo very much.

A last few minutes of bonding time and unfortunately we had to leave for California.

Thanks so much to Team Henderson 2 for sharing your lives and Ryan's with us!
