my talkative way

Then delivered pain and confusion
to keep me at bay
I decided to wonder

To hope about outcomes
that aren’t cold and grey
The world sensed my hope
that very same day
Then stirred up calamity
to start its decay
I decided to believe

Allow something bigger
to determine my way
The world felt my hunger
that very same day
Then fed me alternatives
to lead me astray
I decided to wise up
just today
And not allow the world
to hinder my way
