THE 2009 DOGGIES

Okay.. inspired by our recent THE 2008 BLOGGIES... and the fact that today Julie made her annual trek to the 2009 Golden Gate Kennel Club Dog Show at the Cow Palace.. we bring you THE 2009 DOGGIES.

That's Julie rushing to get into the show!

Along to assist in the judging of this competition were Hannah and her boyfriend Mike. We'll tell you more about Jimmy J - seen below - a little later.

HUMAN DIVISION AWARDS

BEST DOG WANABE
Here's dog wanabe Hannah - looking her best and wishing she was leading the doggy life!

FUTURES AWARD
This picture best represents what I am going to look like when I am 85 and Julie keeps bringing me to the dog show! I think this picture captures the intense level of interest I will have in the goings on!

BEST T-SHIRT AWARD
Way to get your priorities straight!

CANINE DIVISION AWARDS

DOG MOST IN NEED OF MORE SENSITIVE OWNERS - SMALL DOGS
Okay.. when it's .. ummm.. that time of month (or the year as the case may be).. perhaps it's not the right time to take me to the dog show. Perhaps you could stop thinking so much about yourself and have some respect for me and not drag me around in this little get-up. Think about it!

DOG MOST IN NEED OF MORE SENSITIVE OWNERS - LARGE DOG
Are you calling me fat?

DOGS MATCHING BACKGROUND
Check out these three beautiful Irish Wolfhounds. These are 'our people's dogs' according to Hannah!

CUTEST SMILE
What a gorgeous underbite!

BIGGEST BOOGER
That's one big booger coming out of that dog. But, at over 160 pounds.. whose gonna tell him?

MOST IN NEED OF A HAIRCUT
Can you find this dog's eyes? Neither could we. Not sure just what that is all about.. but the owner was mighty proud.. and we are as well to tell you this dog is a 2009 DOGGIES award winner!

DOG MOST LIKELY TO GET BEAT UP BY OTHER DOGS
Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words.

DOG MOST LIKELY TO DO THE BEATING
Meet Jimmy J - a 215 lb English Mastiff. That's Hannah and Mike hanging off the back of him... holding him back from beating the crap out of that girly poodle above. Way to apply your peaceful conflict resolution skills!

MOST LIKELY TO JOIN THE BIGGEST LOSER COUPLES SHOW
Here's a couple Matiffs that tip the scale at a combined 340 lbs! Pretty impressive. Don't they look so happy together? They say that after a couple has been together a few years they start to look similar. No argument here.

RECENT WINNERS - THE BIGGEST LOSER COUPLES
Here's the 2008 entrants in the biggest loser competition. Jillian Michaels kicked their butts relentlessly! Starting out at a combined weight of over 360 lbs.. they succeeded in losing over 95% of their body weight to score an impressive win. Let's hope they keep the weight off.

Okay, I give...why does that poodle have blue wrapped things in her hair? I'm assuming a 'her'?

The poodle is getting a do for the final show. The blue wrapping protects its hair from getting wet and tangled before the big event.

This year I think Tod actually had fun at the show. He really bonded with the Mastiffs.

I'm leaning towards a french bulldog as my favorite this year.

You know for all the comments made about the amount of fun you were going to have before you left for there...you seem to have had a great time! I think you should have put this on your annual events list!

After seeing your bonding skills with the Mastiffs...I think you should look into this being your next dog of choice.

Great time had by all!

just for the record.. there's 'bonding' - like going to a dog show and seeing some hummer dogs and having a good time.. and then there's 'bonding' which includes picking up their massive 'leftovers' in a plastic bag.

i was only doing bonding version 1. not interested in version 2 ;) at least at the mastiff level.
